In Home Therapy

Picture
Morning Star ABA Therapy works with each individual family to schedule ABA services that fit into the families schedule. Morning Star staff conduct services in the clients home. Teaching in the home environment facilitates learning of skills in the environment in which the child will be most often and will use their newly learned skills the most. To encourage generalization and retention of skills ABA therapy is provided in as many of the child's natural everyday environments as possible. Family, siblings and peers are encouraged to participate to expand the clients generalization of skills.

Parent Consultation

Picture
Parents receive training in the home in order to target real life everyday situations. Parents are given the tools to support their child's learning and development as well as the right strategies to decrease problem behaviors and stereotypical, repetitive behaviors seen in children on the Autism spectrum.  Parents, siblings, grandparents and other caregivers are taught and encouraged to use behavior analytic principles with your child. The more caregivers in your child's environment implementing behavior analytic strategies the more learning, growth and generalization of newly learned skills will occur.

Social Skills Training

Picture
We help facilitate and provide one on one support at peer play dates. This social skills training is individualized and tailored to each child's needs. We use proactive strategies to prepare our clients for social situations, to set our clients up for success and to help them access more forms of social reinforcement from peers. We keep peer play dates and social skills training positive and upbeat to create a safe environment for your child to interact in. A scaffolding technique is used where the therapist will fade back and allow the child to interact independently when appropriate interaction is occurring, the therapist fades back in and prompts the child when needed.
